15 Fall Recipes

My family and I have been on vacation this week in Traverse City, MI. Once I am back in Chicago I am going to do a few posts on our adventures up here. It really is one of the most beautiful places..peaceful, relaxing (except for chasing a one year old around) and a lot of nature. The place we are staying at has a very small kitchen with limited utensils and cookware so we have been eating out a lot, sorry for the lack of new recipe posts. Oh, and the food in Traverse City is delicious so we had to hit up our favorite restaurants while here–more on that in a later post.  We did cook up a great meal last night which I will hopefully post tomorrow or Saturday.

For the time being I thought I would do a roundup of 15 fall recipes that are on my list to try. I hope you are as excited about fall as I am! Surprisingly leaves are starting to turn colors up here in Traverse City. Fall is just around the corner. Enjoy!

Roasted Butternut Squash Risotto Risotto is the perfect fall food and butternut squash is going to be in season soon. The saffron sounds like a nice twist to this classic recipe.

Beer Cheese Soup On our trip in Traverse City we had the most amazing white cheddar ale soup with pretzel croutons at North Peak Brewery so now I am on the lookout for similar recipes to try. Perfect for Sunday football!

Quinoa Stuffed Acorn Squash Delicious and healthy.

Candy Corn Cheesecake Mouse  So cute and great Halloween party food.

Spiced Apple Cider  Easy recipe. Nothing like apple cider on a brisk, fall day.

Rosemary, Sea Salt Pretzels  Warm, soft baked pretzels are addictive. Rosemary and sea salt sound like a great addition to the normal baked pretzel and of course that side of mustard or cheese for dipping.

Pumpkin Pie Cupcakes  Pumpkin pie is the go-to desert at most Thanksgiving meals but nothing beats cupcakes, especially for all of those kids that might be at the meal.

Crockpot Chicken Enchilada Soup  Comfort food at its finest. Yum!

Butternut Squash Stuffed Shells with Lemon Sage Butter Sauce  Another great recipe using butternut squash.

Edible Acorn Adorable and perfect for a party or get together.

Crash Hot Potatoes Halfway between mashed and baked.  A new take on potatoes.

Caramel Apple Bites Eating a whole caramel apple can be exhausting, so why not try it bite sized?

Sweet Potato Goat Cheese Tater Tots These look awesome! Goat cheese and sweet potatoes..must try!

Mini Caramel Pumpkin Cheesecake Bites I love all things mini.

Pumpkin and Cheese Spice Bread  Can’t go wrong with pumpkin bread.

It is almost the weekend! Happy Thursday.
